Day 5: Mount Rushmore

In keystone Anna and I stopped to see our 4 most notable presidents CARVED IN STONE! We spent some time with Washington, Adams, Roosevelt and Lincoln. Mount Rushmore took from 1927 to 1941, to be carved. The total cost came to $989,992.32 and took about 400 workers to complete the monument. They chose Washington because he was the first president, John Adams because he signed the Lousiana Purchase, Theodore Roosevelt because he helped bridge the gap between the east and west AND Lincoln because he saved the union during the civil war!!! Each face is about 60 feet tall and each nose is 20 feet tall.
